No milk rises into the spout

Check the removable carafe assembly and that the installed parts match the revision. Do not probe the machine-side coupling.

Milk flows but foam is weak

Compare one known suitable milk at the same starting temperature after the correct cleaning process.

Milk splutters or leaks around the container

Stop, cool and inspect assembly and residue. A damaged connection is not fixed by adding more milk.

The issue began after a replacement carafe

Confirm the accessory part number against the full ECAM code, including any EX suffix.

Safe checks, in order

  1. Record the ECAM model/revision and select the matching official carafe video below.
  2. Use the machine's supported post-drink clean operation and its full deep-cleaning instructions; these are separate tasks.
  3. With parts cool and disconnected as specified, check that removable milk passages are clean and the pieces are properly assembled.
  4. Change one variable for the next ordinary drink: assembly first, then milk choice/temperature. If performance remains poor, stop guessing at seals and obtain support.

A rinse is not the same as deep cleaning

The automatic post-drink operation does not let you inspect residue hidden where removable parts meet. Conversely, dismantling parts without following the revision-specific reassembly can introduce a new air leak. Use the video that actually matches your carafe.

Make the comparison interpretable

Record the milk product, starting temperature, selected drink and whether the carafe was just washed. Different plant milks may behave differently, so changing brands and settings together makes it difficult to know what helped. A functioning coffee outlet does not establish that the milk system is healthy.

Stop and obtain help when

Stop for steam escaping a coupling, damaged plastic, a carafe that will not fit securely, recurring leaks or unsuccessful model-specific cleaning. Do not force parts or add improvised seals.
