Safe checks, in order

  1. Read the care section before adding any chemical. Prepare the container, tank and filter as specified for descaling.
  2. Allow the machine to cool and place it in the off state. The Y25 manual uses one-cup plus steam to switch off.
  3. From off, that manual specifies holding one-cup plus steam together for five seconds to enter descale mode. Do not substitute the cleaning-cycle combination.
  4. Once entry is confirmed, follow the complete solution and rinse sequence in the manual. Do not stop at the first pause or assume clearing the lights removes chemical residue.

Entry, active operation and completion are different

A machine can accept the button combination without starting liquid flow until you confirm the next step. Later, a pause can mean that a refill or rinse stage is waiting. Write down the state you reached rather than reporting only that it does not work.

Avoid a reset loop

Repeatedly disconnecting power or changing button combinations can make it harder to know which maintenance stage is active. A short video of the starting lights and one correct attempt is more useful than ten different attempts. Do not continue if the reservoir already contains an unknown chemical mixture.

Stop and obtain help when

Stop for no water movement, uncontrolled hot discharge, failure to respond to normal controls, or uncertainty about chemical concentration. Never bypass the normal controls or open the housing.

Can I skip the rinse because the warning disappeared?

No. Complete the supported rinse sequence before brewing a drink.

Should I use a cleaning tablet in the tank?

Do not interchange the cleaning tablet and descaling agent. Use the product and placement specified for this operation.
